3D product rendering in New Zealand, priced before you ask.
A product render starts from NZ$150, no GST added. That buys one simple product built from your CAD file or a measured drawing, lit in the studio and rendered on white or a transparent background, ready for your site and your store. Every other price is on this page too, down to an extra angle, which almost no 3D studio in New Zealand or Australia does.
Or call Nick on 021 217 1760, or send a text.
Product renders, turntables, reels and films, each priced on the card.
The same numbers as the pricing page, no GST added. Each card is the starting shape of the job. Anything past it is priced in the menu underneath, so a quote here is built from numbers you can already see.
A product render
from NZ$150For a simple product that has no photos yet, or is still a drawing. Built from your CAD file or a measured drawing and lit here, so you get a clean image of the thing before it exists.
The full list of what is includedA detailed render
NZ$390For a product with no CAD file, more parts, or a finish that is hard to get right. Built from your photos, samples or drawings, then lit and rendered the same way.
The full list of what is includedA turntable or exploded view
from NZ$340For a product people want to see from every side, or one where the insides are the selling point. It turns all the way round, or it comes apart so you can see how it goes together.
The full list of what is includedA looping social reel
from NZ$490For a feed that needs something moving. One product and one idea, looping so cleanly it plays on and on without a jump.
The full list of what is includedA launch film
from NZ$1,690For a launch, a crowdfunding page or the top of your store: a short film of the product, made from its 3D model and cut to music.
The full list of what is included3D on your website
from NZ$390For a store that wants customers to turn the product round on screen, and see it in their own room on their phone.
The full list of what is includedBuilding the model takes most of the hours, so the first angle carries the cost. Every extra angle on the same model costs a fraction of it, and a turntable or an exploded view costs less on a model already built here for a render. What moves the price is where the model starts, a CAD file being quickest and photos or samples slowest, how many parts the product has, how hard its finish is, and whether it moves. A film costs the most because every shot is lit, animated and rendered frame by frame. Each card says how many rounds of changes it includes, and a lifestyle scene, the product set in a styled room, is priced on the 3D page with everything else. All prices are in New Zealand dollars, with no GST added. Tea Break Studio is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged on any price, quote or invoice.
Every extra, from another angle to an exploded view animation.
Once the model exists, most of the cost is behind you, which is why an extra angle or a colour costs so little next to the first image. This is everything that can go on a 3D quote, each with its price.

Where the 3D model starts, and why it moves the price.
Building the model is most of the work in any product visualisation. What you have for the product decides how long that takes, so it decides which price you are on.
- Fastest
A CAD file
If the product was designed in SolidWorks, Fusion, Onshape or anything like them, the shape already exists and it is exact. I bring it in, tidy the surfaces, set the materials and light it. A simple product from CAD is the entry still, from NZ$150.
- Next
A measured drawing
A drawing with the measurements on it, even a careful one by hand, works for a simple product at the same entry price. I build the model from the numbers instead of a file, so it takes longer. What it must have is the dimensions. Without them I would be guessing, and I would rather ask.
- Slowest
Photos or samples
Every surface has to be worked out by eye and checked against a known size, and where a photo cannot show a part clearly I ask for a measurement. That makes it a detailed render, NZ$390. A sample is slower still, and it is the most accurate start for colour and finish.
How many parts it has. A torch with a body, a lens and a cap is three parts. A power tool can run past forty. The entry still covers up to 5 parts and the detailed render up to 20. Past that, it gets a fixed quote in writing before anything starts.
How hard the finish is. Matte plastic is quick. Glass has to show what is behind it and bend it, brushed metal has to catch the light along its grain, and fabric needs its weave. Those three make it a detailed render. Two of the studio films further down show why: Coil is a glass coil, and Woven drift is a woven panel close enough to see the threads.
Whether it moves. A still is one frame. A 3D turntable of the product is eight seconds of frames, every one lit and rendered, and anything that opens, folds or spins has to be set up to move the way the real one does. An exploded view render needs the parts kept separate so they can be pulled apart on clean lines. That is why a turntable or exploded view starts from NZ$340 and a film from NZ$1,690.
Once the model exists, the rest is cheap. An extra angle is NZ$60, a colour or finish variant NZ$40 an image, and a turntable on a model already built here NZ$190. So the sensible order is usually one good still first, then everything else off the same model.
What a 3D product film includes, and what it does not.
3D product animation here comes in two main sizes: a looping social reel from NZ$490, and a launch film from NZ$1,690 for 15 seconds or from NZ$2,690 for 30. Part of why those numbers are low is what a film leaves out, so here is the list both ways.
In every launch film
- A storyboard first. Planned with you before anything is rendered, so the expensive part only happens once you have agreed what it shows. 3 to 4 shots for 15 seconds, 5 to 7 for 30.
- On-screen text, for the name, the price or the one line that matters.
- Licensed music, with what the licence covers in writing before you pay.
- Every size, framed for its shape. A 16:9 master plus 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, each one re-framed and re-rendered rather than cropped out of the wide one, so nothing that matters ends up off the edge.
- The product model, up to 20 parts, and 2 rounds of changes.
Left out, and what to do about it
- Voiceover. A voiceover artist can be booked at cost: their fee goes on the quote as it is, with nothing added, and you see it before you agree.
- Scriptwriting. The film is told in shots and on-screen text. If it needs words spoken, you bring the script.
- Custom sound design. Real recorded foley, synced to the film, on top of the music or in place of it, is its own line, from NZ$490.
- A 4K master. The versions come at 1080p, and a 4K master of the film is NZ$190.
A reel is smaller on purpose. One product and one idea: a single camera move, or one physics or material effect, 6 to 10 seconds long and looping so the end runs into the start without a jump. It comes in 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, with a licensed music bed or silent. Holding it to one idea is what keeps the price where it is. Two ideas is a short film.
Cutting a film for ads. An ad cutdown set is NZ$390 per film: four sizes, each re-framed and re-rendered, with captions and an end card. One more size for any film or reel is NZ$60.
3D rendering prices in New Zealand and Australia, side by side.
In September 2026 I went through the websites of about 35 studios that make 3D product renders and animation for New Zealand and Australian businesses. Most only quote. Two published a price for a product still, and seven more published a figure for an architectural still or a film. On every like for like line the price here is lower, with one exception, which is on the DigiDala card. Where a studio publishes a price plus GST, it is set against mine with their GST added, because I add none. A GST-registered business claims that GST back, and on that footing 3D Model Perspectives' first render, NZ$149 plus GST, is lower than my first still, from NZ$150.
Product stills
DigiDala
Hamilton
- They publish
- NZ$210 plus GST for each render view, NZ$241.50 with GST, even when you supply the CAD file. Building the model from drawings is NZ$570 plus GST on top, so a first still from drawings comes to NZ$897 with GST.
- Here
- A simple still from your CAD file is from NZ$150. A detailed still from photos, samples or drawings is NZ$390 with the model included, and an extra angle is NZ$60. Where theirs is lower: a product with more than 5 parts or a hard finish, from a CAD file you supply, is a detailed render here, NZ$390, against their NZ$210 plus GST a view.

Where there is nothing to compare. None of the New Zealand or Australian studios I checked publishes a price for a turntable, a colour variant, an exploded view or a 3D model for a website. Some do the work and quote it. So for those four there is no local figure to set beside mine, and I would rather say so than borrow an overseas one.
What the higher prices include. The film figures above are not like for like. The Animation Co. includes a script, a voiceover and sound design, Ravel includes a voiceover and sound, and a film here includes none of those. A studio with a team also gives you a producer, cover when someone is away, and the hands to turn a big job round fast. If you need that, those prices are what it costs.
Why these are lower. One person, no office and no account manager, so the price is not carrying their cost. The trade-off is a queue: one person can only take so much at once, so you may wait for a start date.
Who does the work. Some of the studios that turn up for 3D product rendering searches in New Zealand are based overseas, with a New Zealand page. This one is in Beachlands, east Auckland, and the person who answers 021 217 1760 is the one who builds the model.
How the figures were worked out: each is what the studio's own website said in September 2026. Australian dollars are converted at the European Central Bank rate for 22 September 2026, one Australian dollar to NZ$1.2407, with no Australian GST added, because a New Zealand business would not pay it. New Zealand prices published plus GST are shown with GST added as well, because that is what a business that is not GST registered pays. The prices here have no GST added, because I am not registered for GST, so a registered business comparing like for like should use their figure before GST. Prices change, so check a studio's own site before you rely on its figure.
Six studio films, rendered here in Blender.
These are my own studio films, not client work. There is no client 3D work on this site yet, so this is what I can show you instead: films made to work out light, materials and physics, which are the same problems a product render has to solve.

ResonanceA brass ball dropped onto 405 enamel columns. Each one answers, and the colour runs out from where it lands. Built in Blender, nothing keyframed.
Cork treadLoopsCork blocks riding a machined track, going nowhere in particular. A material and lighting study that happens to loop.
PoofLoopsA brass ball down the chute into the Tea Break mark, 2,080 ceramic tiles, and then the machine lays every tile back. This cut went up on the Tea Break motion Instagram, @teabreak.motion.
CoilLoopsBrass balls run down a clear glass coil, one after another, and drop out of sight into a black base veined with orange. Built in Blender.
SqueezeLoopsA brass ball lands on a dark disc, a plunger comes down and presses it straight through, and it drops into the hole below. Built in Blender.
Woven driftLoopsA striped woven panel in tan, slate blue and cream, hanging in mid air and rippling as it drifts, close enough to see the weave. Built in Blender.
