Motion design, New Zealand

Motion design and launch videos, built in 3D.

Short films, looping reels and launch videos for a product or a launch, built and rendered in 3D instead of shot with a camera. Every film on this page is our own.

  • Resonance
  • Cork tread
  • Poof
  • Coil
  • Squeeze
  • Woven drift

From our own studio. Six films we made for ourselves, each one built and rendered in Blender. There is more on our work page, and on Instagram at @teabreak.motion.

What we make

A film of your product, made from its 3D model.

One model does several jobs. Once it is built, the same model can be a launch film, a looping reel for the feed, and a turntable for the product page.

  • A launch film

For a launch, a crowdfunding page or the top of your store: a short film of the product, made from its 3D model and cut to music.

  • A looping social reel

For a feed that needs something moving. One product and one idea, looping so cleanly it plays on and on without a jump.

  • A turntable or exploded view

For a product people want to see from every side, or one where the insides are the selling point. It turns all the way round, or it comes apart so you can see how it goes together.

How a film would get made

Planned on paper before anything is rendered.

  1. You send the product

A CAD file is quickest. A drawing with measurements on it works, and so do photos or samples, which take longer.

  2. We plan it with you

A launch film is planned as a storyboard, shot by shot, and you sign it off before anything is rendered.

  3. We build the model and the film

The model is built and lit here, then every shot is animated and rendered frame by frame. AI helps us draft it, a person finishes every frame.

  4. You get it in every shape you need

A launch film comes as a 16:9 master with 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 versions, so the same film fits your website, stories, reels and the feed.

What it costs

Every film is quoted in writing before we start. Still renders have their own page, with a from price: 3D product rendering.

Building the model takes most of the hours, so the first angle carries the cost. Every extra angle on the same model costs a fraction of it, and a turntable or an exploded view costs less on a model already built here for a render. What moves the price is where the model starts, a CAD file being quickest and photos or samples slowest, how many parts the product has, how hard its finish is, and whether it moves. A film costs the most because every shot is lit, animated and rendered frame by frame. Each card says how many rounds of changes it includes. A simple product render has a from price, and everything else is quoted in writing before we start. All prices are in New Zealand dollars.

Moving pictures made on a computer instead of filmed with a camera: a product turning, a logo building itself, or a short film cut to music. Ours are built and rendered in 3D.

15 seconds, 3 to 4 shots, planned with you as a storyboard before anything is rendered. On-screen text and licensed music. A 16:9 master, plus 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 versions. The product model included, up to 20 parts. No voiceover and no scriptwriting. Custom sound design is a separate line.
6 to 10 seconds, looping seamlessly. One product and one idea: one camera move, or one physics or material effect. 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5 versions, for stories, reels and the feed. A licensed music bed, or silent if you prefer. A simple model built from your CAD file or a measured drawing.
The product itself, as a CAD file or a drawing with measurements on it. A CAD file is the quickest place to start, and photos or samples are the slowest. Then one idea for the film, which we plan with you before anything is rendered.
No. Everything here is built and rendered in 3D, so there is no camera crew and no shoot day. If your job needs one, we will say so when you first get in touch.
One next step

Tell us about the product and the launch.

What it is, when it launches, and where the film will play. We reply in writing with what we would make and what it would cost.
