Web design in Auckland, by the person building it.
The short version. A one page site is NZ$990, a full business website is from NZ$3,290, and an online store is from NZ$4,990, no GST added, with a fixed quote in writing before anything starts. One person designs it, builds it, tests it on a real phone and hands it over, and that person is the one you ring afterwards.

Three ways to get a website in Auckland.
Every quote you get will be one of these three. They are not one thing at three prices, and one of them is probably right for you.
- An agency
A team, and the cost of a team
An office, a sales person and an account manager, all of whom sit between you and whoever is actually building the thing. Worth paying for when you need a contract, a service level agreement and cover when somebody is on leave. For a five page site, a good deal of what you pay covers people who will never open it.
- A template you drive
Cheapest, and sometimes right
Squarespace, Wix or Shopify's own setup, built by you over a few weekends. For some businesses that is honestly the right answer and I will say so rather than quote you. The cost is your evenings, and the ceiling is real: the day you want the thing your business actually needs, a fit checker, a configurator, a quote form that carries six photos of the part, you are stuck with what the template does.
- One person, whole job
What this is
Brief, words, design, build, launch and looking after it afterwards, all with the same person. One phone number, and nobody translating between you and the build. The trade off is worth knowing first: one person takes one or two builds at a time, so you wait for a start date, and if what you need is forty people and a signed service level agreement, I am not it.
The parts nobody quotes, that decide whether it works.
It is designed on a phone first. Most people who find an Auckland trade, clinic or shop are standing up, on a phone, on a patchy connection. The phone layout gets drawn first and every button is pressed on a real handset before you see it. Not a browser window squeezed narrow, an actual phone.
The contact form is tested end to end. A form that silently stops sending is the most expensive fault a small site has, because nothing looks broken. Yours sends from your own domain and is tested to an inbox you can see.
Search set up properly, once. Titles and descriptions written one intent at a time, a sitemap, Search Console and analytics connected, and your map listing wired up so you turn up when somebody nearby searches for what you do. No ranking promise attached to any of it.
A handover you can act on. A short written guide to your own site and a walkthrough, so the first time you need to change a price you are not ringing me.
Photos, or something in their place. A product site lives on its pictures. If what you sell has not been photographed yet, or only exists as a drawing, a render made from your CAD file or a measured drawing can stand in, priced separately: a simple one is from NZ$150. The rest is on the 3D product rendering page.
Three shapes, three numbers.
These are the published prices, the same ones on the pricing page, no GST added. Your quote is a fixed number based on one of these.
One page
NZ$990For a trade, a clinic or a new business that needs one good page with the hours, the services and a way to get in touch.
The full list of what is includedBusiness website
from NZ$3,290For an established business that needs a proper site: services, about, work, contact, and pages set up so search engines can find them.
The full list of what is includedOnline store
from NZ$4,990For a business that sells physical products and wants payment, shipping and tax set up properly from day one.
The full list of what is includedThe one page is a fixed price. The business website and the store are from prices, and what moves them is anything past the list on the card: more pages or products, a booking system, or stock and orders connected to another system. Need something between these, or bigger? We quote it as a fixed price, in writing, with the revision rounds spelled out. All prices are in New Zealand dollars, with no GST added. Tea Break Studio is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged on any price, quote or invoice.
Two builds you can open right now.
Not mock-ups. Both are live, and you can go and use them.
LivePowder Pros
Website rebuild, Next.js
A powder coating and blasting shop in East Tamaki whose customers all arrive on a phone with a photo of the part. Eight service pages, a quote form that carries up to six photos, and a colour browser holding 205 swatches.
LiveEntrance Handles
Online store, Shopify
A Shopify store for architectural door hardware made in New Zealand. 52 products with finishes, sizes and fitting detail structured so a specifier can choose a handle without ringing anyone.
Where the studio stands.
Tea Break Studio is new. Here is what that means, so you can weigh it up yourself.
No testimonials yet
Nobody has been asked to put their name to one yet, and I will not invent them. What you can do instead is open the work above on your phone and use it, which is harder to fake than a quote in italics.
No client count
You will not find "trusted by 200 businesses" here, because I would have to make the number up. Every project is on the work page, labelled for who it was done for.
No ranking guarantee
Nobody can promise a position in search results, and anyone who does is selling something they do not control. I do the work that helps and show you what the numbers actually do.
And then the part after launch
A build has an end date. A website does not. If you would rather keeping it alive was somebody's job than yours, care plans start at NZ$69 a month, and a site built somewhere else gets a written review first.
Already have a site that works? Then the website may not be the job at all. AI for small business in NZ covers where AI is worth paying for, where it is not, and what each piece costs.
What people ask before they pick anyone.
Six questions worth having answered before you ring anyone, answered here so you do not have to make the call to find out.
